⁹ Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

⁹ It was 14 feet across, with supporting columns 31/2 feet thick. This entry room was at the inner end of the gateway structure, facing toward the Temple.
